This morning we relaxed in the room until around 11:30. Then we went down to the hotel restaurant for lunch/breakfast. If we get ourselves ready to get down there before 10 a.m. they have a pretty good breakfast buffet. After eating we went back to the room to play and nap for the afternoon. We walked to the lake area to attend a puppet show with Martin (our facilitator) in the lead. There were 10 adults and 5 babies. I was in the back and I thought we looked like a line of little ducks following her mama while we were walking single file through the streets. Crossing the street is a whole different game than in the United States. You kind of wait for a break and then walk slowly. The motorbikes and cars steer around you. It takes a few times to get used to.
We went to the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre . It was a pretty cool show. Ava was very good throughout. She wiggled a bit but did not begin to get fussy until the end. Basically there was a band/orchestra that played and sang music which told a story. In front of us the stage was a pool of water with a screen toward the back. The puppets would come from behind the screen or up out of the water to tell a story. It was very vibrant and fun to watch. The music was beautiful.
We at dinner at Al Fresco's again, the American/Tex Mex Restaurant that we went to a few days ago. The food was very good and so was the service. Ava and mommy experienced their first on the go diaper change (twice and the second one was not an easy one). She also drank a bottle and was once again held by one of the waitresses while I was finishing up dinner.
After dinner we took a taxi back to the hotel - we are finally figuring out how to make sure we do not get taken by the taxi drivers. You have to negotiate the fee before you get in and watch the monitor very closely. It is important to have them drop you off in front of your destination in case there is a discrepancy with the money (Dong). Our hotel staff is very good about helping if necessary.
Well, that is it for today.

Hi Meg, Kurt and Ava Linh,
I have been following you every day. How exciting! Ava is a lucky little lady to have 2 such wonderful parents. You have so much to give but especially lots of love. I can hardly wait to see Ava (and you too!)
Love,
Pat Edwards
