Before going out to dinner we went to the pediatrician for her 18 month check-up. She is 19 pounds and 30.25 inches long. Her length is in the 20th percentile and weight is below the American curve but she is perfectly healthy according to the Vietnamese charts.
Some fun facts about Ava - she still sleeps all night (7/8 pm - 6/7 am). She no longer wants to be rocked to bed, just held for a few minutes by Daddy and then laid in bed to fall asleep on her own. In the morning she plays with the light/noise machine until I go into get her (sometimes that can be up to an hour). We eat oatmeal with applesauce most mornings. She still wears 9-12 month clothes (sometimes 6-9). Here shoe size is 3.5 and she is a master of taking her socks and shoes off and then is not so good at putting them back on. She can parrot any word that we say and understands most of what we say - although I don't understand much of what she says. Especially when she strings words/noises together. She really likes this awful children's music video from the 80's. It has babies in it so she regularly repeats - "baby on" until we give in and turn it on. She leads us to what she wants to do by grabbing our finger and then saying walk, open, etc. She loves to sing and motion the "Wheels on the Bus..." and "Ring around the Rosie". She respond to the beat of music and is pretty good little dancer. It is hard to say what her favorite food is - maybe anything with red pasta sauce on it. I guess that is enough for now - I just read last years blog from Valentine's Day and it made me realize how much she has changed. Happy Valentine's Day

She is just beautiful! She's growing so fast (even if she is a little peanut)!
