This weekend we went to the NYC area to see my (Meg's) extended family. The 3.5 hour drive went fairly smoothly - Ava gets a bit tired of the car seat after 2 hours. We went this particular weekend to attend a baby shower for my cousin Kristen (due in November) hosted by my other cousin Joy (due in December). Ava is looking forward to being one of the big cousins :) but for now she is still the baby... This was the first time she met most of my father's family. They threw us a wonderful surprise "Welcome Ava" BBQ. I am very lucky to have such a caring extended family. Ava had a very busy weekend entertaining all who would pay attention. My favorite pictures of Ava now are her sleeping at the end of the parties...
