The first full week of day care/work completed

Well, life is very different. Ava is going to day care at SUNY Cortland. It is wonderful but I miss seeing her all day long. I am dropping her off and Kurt is picking her up. Based on feed back and our time with her, she really seems to like it.

Since the Day Care center was closed due to the snow storm on Valentines Day and many people stayed home on Thursday (including me) they had the children make Valentines cards last Friday - Her little foot prints are sooooo tiny. The weekend was quiet once again. People in the area were still digging out from the snowstorm. On Sunday we went to dinner at a friends house. Ava was quite the little entertainer, especially since they were willing to eat dinner early so that they could see her before she fell asleep. Over the weekend Ava started reaching for specific items and picking them up. Now when we hold her, she grabs right on to our shirt or my hair.

Over the week we have found that Ava is sitting up more each day. I bet by next week she will not need any support. She will sleep through the night if we add cereal to her formula diet. We still have not found a fruit or vegetable that she likes to eat. But she likes oatmeal cereal even more than rice cereal. She enjoys splashing in her bath - even having a little water splashed on her face. She like toys that have textures, make noises, and have lights.

We continue to receive the most amazing advice, gifts and notes - thank you to our friends and family for all of your support!
