Our baby, the love of our lives was placed in our arms forever! Many families that adopt a child celebrate their adoption day because that is when their child became a member of their family. We intend to call January 15th "Ava Day" in the future and celebrate it in a manner that is similar to a birthday.
Today we dressed her in a cute Asian inspired outfit (she is still too small for the outfits we purchased in Vietnam). We shared the importance of today with her day care providers and talked about how to celebrate it in the future (when the children are old enough to understand). We intended to go to a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner but it snowed today and the roads were bad so we had dinner at a Chinese buffet here in town. Ava was the center of attention - waiving at anyone that looked at her, calling out Mama and Dada every time we left her to go to the buffet, drinking milk out of her cup every time the waitress took a sip out of her similar cup, and just being her cute self. She is still petite so she often amazes people with her motor and speech skills. We had a very nice night spending time together as a family.

Happy Ava Day!!! Wow, I can't believe she's a toddler already! So cute!
Happy, happy Ava Day! I'm sure you have a ton to think about on this very inportant anniversary. The rememberance of where you were one year ago brings back such strong memories and emotions.
