Flights are Confirmed and Christmas

We had one more shower at Meg’s work. It was the first shower where some of the people attending had adopted internationally so they helped me answer questions and all involved gave me great advice. We also received some donations for the Orphanage. Thank you everyone at IC.

Kurt and I were at home for Christmas. It was quiet. We are looking forward to a different experience next year. Ava will be about a year and a half – how much fun will that be! Actually Christmas Eve at Papa’s house had an abundance of children’s energy - Ava’s 6 cousins make for a lively evening. On Christmas day we went to Kurt’s brothers for Christmas dinner – his two kids were fun, dinosaurs and penguins abound. We saw Kurt’s Mom, his sister and our newest niece (6 weeks) old last week for his family celebration. Kurt’s mom is already spoiling our dear Ava rotten and they have not even met yet.

Adoption news – Our flights are set. We fly out of Syracuse on January 12th so that we arrive in Hanoi on the 14th. We will be spending one night in Tokyo, Japan – home of Yuri, soon to be a cousin by marriage. We believe that the Giving & Receiving Ceremony will be within a couple of days of arriving, which is the point where Ava is officially in our arms waiting for paper work to process until we can return to NY. If you are looking to read more about adoption check out Tapestry Books.
